Our featured pets this week are Hannah and Nugget.

Hannah is a beautiful 6-month-old kitty. She is dark gray with pretty white markings on her chin, chest and feet. Hannah was a friendly stray brought to the humane society to find her forever home. She is a calm and gentle girl and gets along great in one of our kitty condos with other adult cats. Hannah loves to sit quietly on the cat perch and watch her surroundings. She is quick to pick out a spot warmed by the sun’s rays. Hannah is a gorgeous kitty that will bring a lot of love and companionship to her new home.

Nugget is an adorable small breed mix that is searching for his permanent home. He was a stray out in the county and his owner has not been found so he is ready for a fresh start. Nugget appears to be about 2 years old and weighs 20 pounds, the perfect size for a house dog. Nugget is a little shy at first, but very loving. He would do great in a quieter household where he won’t be overwhelmed and can relax and feel secure. If you think you’re the perfect match for this sweet little fellow, come for a meet and greet and be prepared to fall in love. 

Change A Pet’s Life Day is Jan. 24! This day is devoted to encouraging animal adoption and to draw attention to the many homeless animals that are held in shelters and rescues. Adopting a homeless dog or kitty will certainly change that animal’s life forever. But, even if you cannot adopt now, there are a lot of other ways to help shelter animals. 

You can donate items on the shelter’s wish list, give gift cards to help purchase supplies or make a monetary contribution. Another way to help the homeless dogs and cats is to volunteer. So mark your calendar to celebrate Change A Pet’s Life Day by brightening the future for a homeless dog or cat.
