Our featured pets this week are Hunter and Chance.

Hunter is a very friendly 2-year-old tabby with a medium length hair coat. Hunter had a home but was surrendered because his owner said she didn’t have time to care for a pet. This sociable fellow is pretty low maintenance. Give him some kitty kibble, a soft bed and clean litter box and he’s a happy guy. The only thing you need to add is love and attention and that won’t be difficult with a sweet boy like Hunter. He is huggable and outgoing and deserves a real forever home. Hunter is sure to be your constant companion if you choose him for adoption.

Chance is a charming 8-month-old mixed breed. He is a handsome brindle color with lots of flashy white markings. Chance was rescued by animal control from a sad situation where he was not getting proper care and his basic needs of food, clean water and shelter were not being met. Even under these trying circumstances, Chance kept a positive outlook and a loving attitude towards people. With some TLC over the last month, Chance has gained weight and his overall condition improved so he is now ready for adoption. Give this sweet fellow the loving home he deserves and you will be rewarded with a lifelong best friend. 

Warmer weather means more trips to the park, longer walks and more chances for your pet to wander off or possibly slip out of the house. After all this winter weather check your backyard fence, window screens and screen doors and make sure they are pet proof. Make sure your dog or cat has a microchip for identification and wears a tag with your contact information. Keep several recent photos of your pet in case you have to go looking for a lost companion. If your pet goes missing promptly call the humane society to file a report so hopefully your dog or kitty can quickly make it back home
