Students will return to class on April 13, the Monday after spring break. However, if the state of the emergency is lifted, Lincoln County Schools may decide to use less NTI days and return to school prior to spring break.

According to the Lincoln County Health Department, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lincoln County. However, four people in Lincoln have undergone testing for COVID-19 and are awaiting the results from their test.

The schools will be implementing Non-Traditional Instruction (Patriot Day Packets) starting Monday March 16 through April 3. March 13 is scheduled as a staff work day and April 6-10 is spring break. There will be no NTI packets on these days.

Detailed information regarding NTI will be forthcoming. As usual, your student’s teachers will be available to assist with instruction on these NTI days. Do not hesitate to contact them with any questions regarding instruction.

All extracurricular activities, including athletics, will be cancelled until further notice. This means no practices or games. No students are permitted on campus. For more information contact your coach or activity leader. The food services department is devising a plan to provide breakfast and lunch for students. We will be releasing more information about this soon.

We are continuing to seek consultation from the Lincoln County Health Department and Center for Disease Control. We are taking these measures as a precaution to best protect our students, their families and our community. We all have an obligation to protect ourselves along with the people around us.

It is important to remain calm, clean (according to guidelines provided by the CDC) and cooperate with each other. The health and safety of stakeholders is our top priority. Lincoln County Schools Superintendent said, “We are planning to return to classes after spring break (April 13th), however we will continue to monitor and evaluate our return date. We are learning more about COVID-19 every day and we will continue to make the best decision for our community based on the latest information available.”

Please contact your school or the Lincoln County Student Support Center with any questions or concerns.
