The Advocate-Messenger reported in this morning’s email newsletter and on its website that Boyle County Schools had been selected as a COVID-19 testing site.
According to Danville-Boyle County Emergency Management Director Mike Wilder, the school district has not been selected as a testing site at this time. Wilder said paperwork was submitted preparing the way to have the district become a testing site if that should become necessary, however that action has not officially been taken at this time by the office of Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear or the Kentucky National Guard.
The paperwork had to be submitted in preparation of the potential need for a local testing site, Wilder explained, and the action taken by the Boyle County School District at its Thursday online meeting was simply providing approval of its property as a site if needed.
