Rosalea Reed Boone

1933-2020

Rosalea Reed Boone, 86, of Lexington, KY (formerly of Stanford, KY) passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Brookdale Richmond Place in Lexington, KY. Born on July 31, 1933 in McKinney, KY to the late Atlas Reed and Grace Manning Reed. 

She was the Owner of Boone Insurance Agency for many years in Lancaster, KY. She was a member of DAR Logan Whitley Chapter. Rosalea was a very active member in Stanford Christian Church, she was one of the first female Elders. 

Survivors include her granddaughter, Mary-Grace Luscher Allen (Greg) of Frankfort, KY; one brother, Clint Reed (Brenda) of Franklin, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Boone; daughter, Lisa G. Boone; her parents, Atlas Reed and Grace Manning Reed; two sisters, Jewell Cooper and Ruby Norris. 

Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stanford Christian Church. Funeral will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Stanford Christian Church with Dr. Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. 

Pallbearers are Jim Spurlin, Dr. Mark Spurlin, Barry Spurlin, Greg Allen, Steve Graham and Dr. Jim Baughman. Honorary Pallbearers are Members of Stanford Christian Church, Doris Spurlin, Sara Lynn Cave, Ottis Cave, Nancy Boone and Harvey Howard. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and regulations, all individuals will be required to wear a mask for the visitation and funeral services of Rosalea Boone.
