Children’s Services Librarian Libby McWhorter is putting together Spring Holiday Crafts & More grab bags featuring St. Patrick’s Day and Easter-themed crafts, a snack to make, and a STEM activity. A video of instructions on how to make everything included in the grab bag will premiere on the library’s Children’s Programming Facebook page and YouTube channel. Supplies for this craft are limited. Those interested in participating must call the library at (859) 238-7323 to register to reserve a bag by Friday, March 12 before 5:30 p.m. Patrons who register by the deadline may pick up their kits at the library from Tuesday-Wednesday, March 16-17. This activity is recommended for ages 5-8.

KidStir

On Tuesdays at 4 p.m., children can make a tasty new treat at home as they follow along with an instructional video. Treats this month include Nutter Butter Leprechauns, Rainbow Donuts, and Chick Cupcakes. Those who are interested in participating will need to register each week by calling the library by the Monday of that week to pick up the free kit on Tuesday. Supplies are limited. This event is for ages 5-8.

 Teen Take & Make

Teens can pick up a fun DIY project kit they can make at home, with the help of a how-to tutorial video. No registration is required, but supplies are limited. The weekly video will premiere on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. This activity is for ages 13-18.

Tween DIY

Each Friday at 4 p.m. the library hosts a virtual DIY program for tweens showing them how to make fun and useful items. This month’s projects include hand scrub, a sock plushie, and a gel air freshener. Participants can pick up a free kit of supplies from the library then follow along with the instructional video at home. Supplies are limited and are given out on a first come basis. Kits may be picked up at the Tree Desk in the Children’s Library weekly Saturday-Thursday prior to the video premiere. This activity is for ages 9-13.
