The Art-full Affair is 10 years old!  The event, held only in odd-numbered years, offers a unique opportunity to ticket holders because every ticket is a winner!  Every ticket holder will leave the event with a piece of art or art service and the proceeds benefit art programs for children.

Since 2003, the previous nine events have netted over $75,000 which have directly supported scholarships for local children to participate in art activities such as Danville Children’s Choir; Heritage Area Strings Program; summer camps at West T. Hill Community Theatre, the Danville Schools and Opening Act; dance classes at Parks and Recreation; support for performing groups to travel; Forensics Camp fees; music lessons; free concerts and stage productions at the schools; summer art materials; and so much more.

Through the generosity of local artists and artists who have close connections to the area, a wide variety of art pieces and services will be available from which ticket holders may select.  Donations are as varied as our local art community and include art quilts, paintings, pottery, photography, theater tickets, and certificates for private concerts and landscape design.

Every ticket admits two persons to the Preview Party from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 10, and the Draw Party on Sept. 11, beginning at 6:30.  Both parties are at Pioneer Playhouse, 840 Stanford Road. Light refreshments will be served.  Modifications to the format from previous years have been made to ensure a safe and healthy event for patrons.  Masks are requested.

During the Preview Party, ticket holders have the opportunity to view all the available art and plan their selection when their name is called at the Draw Party.  Many donating artists will attend the Preview Party to meet with collectors and discuss their art.  Art selections are valued at several times more than the $100.00 ticket price.  Several pieces of art will be offered at live auction with bidding only available to ticket holders.

The Art-full Affair is a rare chance to start or add to your collection of local art and benefit the children of the community.  Many past attendees have become introduced to our art heritage at this event and have returned over and over.

Ticket price is $100, and tickets may be reserved at arts@historicdanvilleky.com.  A check to the Arts Commission at 105 E. Walnut St., Danville, KY 40422 will confirm your reservation.  Tickets are limited, so act fast.  For additional information, contact Mimi Becker at the Arts Commission, or text 859-691-0316.
