1937 – 2020

Sunrise was May 17, 1937 in Danville, KY and Sunset was December 1, 2020 in Lexington, KY. She was humble and ordinary. The Lord sometimes uses ordinary people to do extra-ordinary things. She confessed a belief in Christ at an early age. She married her high school sweetheart, John Davis, Sr. (now deceased). Soon afterwards they moved to New York with their young daughter, where he was stationed in the military. A few years later they returned to Kentucky. She told her father she missed the food in Kentucky. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, sang in the choir and assisted with the Red Circle Missionary Girls. She leaves to cherish her memories four children, Theresa Davis Beatty, Donna Davis, L’Tanya Davis and John (Johnny) Davis, Jr., grandchildren Denell Beatty, Shaleah Beatty, Johshua Davis, LaToya Davis and Ambrose Davis, 10 great-grand children, several nieces and nephews, sisters Delores Alston, Zenia, OH, Rita (Bryant) Smith, Cincinnati, OH, one brother Thomas (Denise) Revely, Cincinnati, OH. She was pre-deceased by a devoted friend Mr. John Johnson. Burial Lexington Cemetery. Arrangements Smith & Smith Funeral Home, Lexington.
