The Boyle County bats were back after a slow Tuesday performance against Lincoln County.

The Rebels took care of business early and often in the reverse matchup in Stanford, where six different hitters had a multi-hit game in a 15-3 victory.

Boyle pitchers Blake Samons and Karson Thompson each tossed one inning, with Thompson giving up two unearned runs. Connor Samons finished the game, going the final five innings and allowing just one run.

At the plate, Boyle was paced by a stellar top of the order: Cam Yates was 4-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored and two RBIs. Eli Glasscock was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Karson Thompson was 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs. Jack Briese was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Ethan Carter was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Collin Carver added a 2-for-2 performance with two runs scored and an RBI.

Sawyer Carrier again led Lincoln at the dish with a 2-for-3 performance and a run scored.

Lawson Hon recorded a 1-for-3 performance with a run scored; Wyatt Hon and Devin Lawhorn each contributed an RBI in the contest for Lincoln.

The Patriots host Somerset on Friday while Boyle turns its attention to the Louisville Invitational Tournament this weekend.

Softball

Boyle County softball needed an extra inning to take down Lincoln County in Stanford.

The Patriots jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one inning and held that lead until the third, when Boyle plated four runs to take a 5-4 lead.

Lincoln rallied in the fifth to retake the lead, 6-5, before Boyle tied the game 6-6 in the sixth. Each team scored a run in the seventh inning to take the game into extra innings.

Kyndal Honaker pitched a complete game for Boyle and struck out two batters.

Izzy Gervacio led Boyle with four hits; Hailey Cannon added three and Katy Grace Chadwell brought in three runs for the Rebels.

Boyle has secured the top seed in the district tournament with a 3-0 regular season record and will next take on Marion County on April 30.

Lincoln falls to 1-2 in district play and will visit Rockcastle County on Friday before hosting Whitley County on Saturday.
