For the past several days, workers have been adding a new pitched roof over the old flat roof building where New Hope Food Pantry is located, off of Fourth Street in Danville, across from The Salvation Army Thrift Store. Construction is being done by John “Skippy” Stamp of Burgin, and Cody Czajkowski, who recently moved to Perryville from New York.

On Wednesday afternoon while working with the sun on his back as he walks across the the trusses, Czajkowski said he loved the warm weather. Stamp said it was a sign of a true carpenter to freely walk across the beams like Czajkowski was doing.
