The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) and the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society (DBCHS) announced a partnership to bring KHS’ CARE-a-van mobile veterinary clinic to Danville. “We are thrilled to partner with our friends at the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society to bring the CARE-a-van and its low-cost services to this community of caring pet owners,” said Kat Rooks, Kentucky Initiatives Director for KHS. “We never want access to services or financial resources to prevent pets from receiving the care they need to stay healthy.”
“Most pet parents who surrender an animal need short-term help to keep their cat or dog,” said Kari Kuh, DBCHS’ executive director. “DBCHS is committed to providing safety nets like the Community Cat Program and Pet Food Pantry so beloved pets can stay in their homes. The KHS CARE-a-van is an incredible addition to our programming, and we’re grateful for their support.”
The KHS CARE-a-van mobile veterinary vehicle brings low-cost pet wellness services to communities throughout Kentucky that lack affordable veterinary care. The CARE-a-van is part of KHS’ Love 120 initiative to positively impact companion animals in all 120 counties in Kentucky. It is made possible by the generous support of the Joanne W. Gauntt Foundation, PetSmart Charities, Rachel Ray Foundation, Trager Family Foundation, and many other KHS supporters.
