MCKINNEY – Jadyn Post, 19, was killed when the tractor trailer she was operating went off the road on Kentucky Highway 198 on Thursday morning, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
It was about 7 a.m. on Dec. 7 when Lincoln County Emergency Services were dispatched to the 5100 block of Hwy. 198 for a crash involving a tractor trailer, according to a LCSO press release.
When units arrived on scene they found a single-vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer that had overturned.
Post was pronounced dead by Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum at 7:45 a.m.
Post was transporting a load of lumber from McKinney to Greensburg, Marcum said. She had an active Commercial Driver’s License.
“For unknown reasons, she ran off the roadway and tried to overcorrect, and when she came back up on the road she overturned and she was trapped in the truck there,” Marcum said. “She had her seat belt on, but it was blunt force trauma.”
No drugs or alcohol are suspected but a standard toxicology report will be conducted, the coroner said.
The roadway remained closed for several hours as the collision was under investigation.
Det. Sgt. Michael Mullins is overseeing the investigation.
LCSO was assisted on scene by Lincoln County EMS, Lincoln County Fire, Deputies Marty Elliot and Ron Luster, along with Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement Trooper Hazelwood.
