Diggin’ it

Donnie Martin, with Keys Nursery and Landscaping Co. out of Perryville, looks to the sky as a few rain drops fall Wednesday morning. Martin said he and Peggy Terry, far right, have planted about 500 shrubs, grasses and Hydrangeas on the barren hillside in front of the new Farmers National Bank at the intersection of Hustonville Road and the bypass. Martin said the ground is full of rocks and debris from where the previous building was demolished which makes digging the holes for new plantings a hard job. He also said he was hoping for rain to soften the ground a little. The other side of the drainage ditch closest to the highways has been seeded by the state which has the responsibility of taking care of that area, Martin said.
