Willow Creek Sanctuary, a small, non-profit, no-cage, no-kennel, no-kill animal rescue in Danville, will benefit from test drives at Stuart Powell on April 27. The Mercer County Senior High School girls basketball program will benefit from test drives on June 1.

Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both days, the dealership will donate $20 for every driver age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license, who test-drives a new Ford vehicle, up to a maximum of $6,000 if there are 300 test drives. Stuart Powell will also donate $10 for every second test drive by the same driver, up to a maximum of $2,000 for 200 second test drives.

“We know funding for community programs is hard to come by, and we want to do our part to help make sure these programs remain available,” said Robert Cunningham, Community Manager at Stuart Powell Ford Lincoln Mazda.

Volunteers with Willow Creek and the girls basketball program will be on hand to get test drivers registered and accompanied on the test-drive route on their respective dates.

Willow Creek Sanctuary operates on a volunteer-only basis and has an average adoption rate of more than 100 animals per year. Animals at Willow Creek live free, in a home-like environment until the sanctuary can find them forever homes. Willow Creek specializes in domestic and wildlife animals that are orphaned, injured or in need of respite care to recuperate from traumatic events.

Stuart Powell is at 225 S. Danville Bypass. Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license. Each registration, test-drive and survey should last approximately 20 minutes total. There is a limit of one test drive per mailing address.

Stuart Powell Ford asks that no animals ride in the test-drive vehicles.
