Bluegrass Community and Technical College has announced that Dr. Michelle Carter will lead the Danville Campus.

With more than 10 years in education at BCTC,  Carter brings experience as a classroom instructor, advisor and most recently, director of BCTC TRIO Support Services at Danville. She has served in nonprofit administration, private industry and the military.

Dr. Carter holds a bachelor of arts degree in human services and counseling, and master of arts in education from Lindsay Wilson College. She earned a doctorate of education, educational leadership and policy studies from Eastern Kentucky University.

“Dr. Carter has been an emerging leader in the college and is well-regarded in the Danville community,” said Mark Manuel, vice president of Advancement and Organizational Development. “We are very fortunate to have her moving into this role. She is a leader focused on student success and community partnership.”

“I look forward to implementing the mission of BCTC while serving Danville, Boyle County and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Carter. “I’m excited about breaking ground on the community-supported advanced manufacturing center, as well as building new relationships.”

Dr. Carter will transition from her current position to Danville Campus director June 1.
