Stabbing suspect turns himself in to police

Justin T. Davis, 40, of Danville, has been charged with one count of first-degree assault for allegedly stabbing a woman in the back.
A man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the back has turned himself in to Danville police.
Justin T. Davis, 40, of Danville, turned himself in at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the police department.
Danville police responded to the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center shortly before noon Monday to investigate after the victim of the alleged stabbing — Sanchez Bailey, 25, of Danville — came to the hospital for treatment, according to police.
“Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that (Bailey) had been into a physical altercation with (Davis),” according to previous information from police. “The altercation escalated when Davis allegedly took a knife and stabbed Bailey in the back.”
Davis was being held in the Boyle County Detention Center Wednesday afternoon on one count of first-degree assault. Bond had not been set.
The Danville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing the investigate the case.
