Bluegrass Contracting has returned to work on the north side of Main from Fourth Street to Danville City Hall. The demolition contractor, Lawhorn Electric, began Tuesday in front of the Community Arts Center.

It will be difficult to keep all the sidewalks open, but they will maintain some access to the CAC, Davis Building and Danville Bike and Footwear. Pedestrians should continue using caution in the area if they pass through.

Less noticeable is the beginning of demolition for the new firehouse at 451/461 West Main Street. MAS Excavating began last week and has leveled the rear third of the properties. One benefit of the rain is it has kept the dust down.
