Danville man arrested on outstanding warrants after police chase

On Monday at 10:00 p.m., Danville Police attempted a traffic stop on a blue Ford Fusion at the intersection of Hustonville Road and 2nd Street. The vehicle operator failed to stop for police and continued to travel south on Hustonville Road.
The vehicle then turned onto Carrigan Drive, traveling along Patrician Place, before eventually circling back to Carrigan Drive and Hustonville Road. The driver then proceeded north on Hustonville Road at speeds under 50mph.
Multiple Danville Police units were assisting and able to block intersections to warn other motorists. Once on South 3rd Street, the driver made a right turn onto Fackler Street before finally stopping at the intersection of Fackler Street and 2nd Street.
Once stopped, the operator was compliant with police and taken into custody without incident. Michael K. Woods, 39, of Danville was identified as the driver and arrested. A female passenger was also in the vehicle but was uninvolved and attempted to get Woods to stop the vehicle.
Woods was arrested on two outstanding Boyle County warrants and charged additionally with fleeing or evading police 1st degree, operating on suspended driver’s license, improper turning, disregarding a stop sign, unlawful imprisonment 1st degree, and driving motor vehicle using handheld, mobile device.
