Dead period is over
As of midnight on Wednesday July 10th, the dead period has ended meaning that teams are able to resume practices and team functions again.
The two week period where all school athletic functions are prohibited, including organized practices, unorganized practices at the school’s facilities and communication between coaches and players was designed to give both coaches and student athletes a break during the summer months.
Most players and coaches took the break to go on vacations with their families. Some just enjoyed a break from the grind of the seasons.
Now that it’s over, coaches for fall sports will slowly begin to start up organized team activities again, with most sports seriously ramping up practices on July 15.
The high school athletic season will officially kick off on August 2 as golf begins its two month long season.
